the fruit market

My love of fruit markets, their fruit, their baked goods, their friendly atmosphere, and their charm began when I worked for a local, family-owned market in high school. My favorite jobs to do there included shuffling through berries to take out the bad ones, filling and weighing bird seed, de-husking sweet corn just enough to look irresistible, and designing and making the hand-made signs for all the produce and baked goods.

Our family just took a trip to Michigan this summer. And we I have fallen in love with the Dutch Farm Market, among others surrounding South Haven. It is my favorite stop on vacation--the one I am already looking forward to next year!
